On Thursday, February 24, 2022, Russia further invaded Ukraine creating the largest humanitarian crisis since World War II.

To support Ukrainians, we are offering pop-up collections for sale.  Proceeds will be donated to help Ukraine through the Ukrainian Credit Union "UCU Helps Ukraine Project".

We are proud to partner with incredible artists based in Ukraine & Canada.  KRAPKA is grateful to showcase how art, culture & humanitarian aid can help the world.

Artists

Michelle and Alex Stoney | Мішель і Алекс Стоуні are Gitxsan artists based in British Columbia, Canada.  Digging deep into their Indigenous roots and traditions, the brother-sister team create modern interpretations of the world around them.  During the early days of the COVID19 pandemic, Michelle created a colouring page containing the sunflower.  The Stoney's posted that the Sunflower was developed by Indigenous Peoples in North American for over 7000 years and all domesticated varieties of Sunflower come from the Americas.  In the 1500s, the Spanish brought them back to Europe where the Slavic peoples embraced the Sunflower.  (Jacob Beaton's FB timeline Tea Creek).  Alex says he wanted to share a visual representation of this unique relationship:  "I felt this information showed how we are all connected in some way.  Since we are all connected, we stand together".  KRAPKA reached out to the Stoney's about this humanitarian project fusing art & cultures, and they immediately agreed.

KRAPKA is proud to showcase one pop-up collection for adults and youth created by the Stoney siblings:  "The Sunflower:   Соняшник".

5.3 oz fabric weight:

• A softer, classic midweight fabric that feels comfortable on skin  

100% pre-shrunk cotton jersey knit:

• Single-knit cotton fabric that stretches which has undergone a controlled manufacturing process to preshrink the fabric to thwart further shrinkage once in use

Seamless double-needle 3/4" stitched rib collar at neck:

• A crewneck with double stitching around the collar and sleeves for polished look

Shoulder-to-shoulder taping:

• Shoulder-to-shoulder binding for extra durability at stress points

Double-needle sleeve and bottom hems stitching:

• Finish for sleeves & bottom hem that uses two needles to create parallel rows of visible stitching to give the garment a cleaner, more finish look while adding durability  

Print:

• State of the art water based inks and printing processes that will not rub off, crack or peel

Fit:

• Standard fit with wider collar, lower shoulder seams, straight sleeves, larger armholes, straight torso & tubular seams

Size: 

• Youth extra-small, small, medium, large & extra-large

Care:

• Machine wash cold in gentle cycle; no bleach; low tumble dry or hand dry; do not iron design; no dry clean
