On Thursday, February 24, 2022, Russia further invaded Ukraine creating the largest humanitarian crisis since World War II.

To support Ukrainians, we are offering pop-up collections for sale.  Proceeds will be donated to help Ukraine. through the Ukrainian Credit Union "UCU Helps Ukraine Project".

Artists

Michelle and Alex Stoney | Мішель і Алекс Стоуні are Gitxsan artists based in British Columbia, Canada.  Digging deep into their Indigenous roots and traditions, the brother-sister team create modern interpretations of the world around them.  During the early days of the COVID19 pandemic, Michelle created a colouring page containing the sunflower.  The Stoney's posted that the Sunflower was developed by Indigenous Peoples in North American for over 7000 years and all domesticated varieties of Sunflower come from the Americas.  In the 1500s, the Spanish brought them back to Europe where the Slavic peoples embraced the Sunflower.  (Jacob Beaton's FB timeline Tea Creek).  Alex says he wanted to share a visual representation of this unique relationship:  "I felt this information showed how we are all connected in some way.  Since we are all connected, we stand together".  KRAPKA reached out to the Stoney's about this humanitarian project fusing art & cultures, and they immediately agreed.

Fabric weight:

• 8.5 oz, a medium weight that feels comfortable

60% cotton and 40% recycled polyester:

• Cotton/poly blend offers durability, quicker drying & light stretch; uses uses a polyester fiber made from recycled content including plastic bottles

• Diameter of yarn used range between 18-40; higher singles, tighter the yarn, the softer & lighter the garment

Fit:

• Retail fit with a technical fitting that creates contoured torso that is flattering & comfortable with fitted sleeves, higher shoulder seams, tapered sleeves, smaller armholes & side seams

• Side seams hold the structure of the garment to make sure the custom design print is front & centre while giving the best fit

Print:

• State of the art water based inks and printing processes that will not rub off, crack or peel

Size:

• True to size & skims body; Note:  (1) if ordering this unisex garment for women, most customers upsize (eg. use a unisex Small for a women's Medium); (2) for anyone wanting a looser fit, order one size larger

Care:

• Machine wash cold in gentle cycle; no bleach; low tumble dry; do not iron printing; no dry clean
